Hey hi!

How are you? I’m doing well. This year I’ve been very busy working on many projects, right now I’m working on new paintings for clients and also for a new collection, but this time I just wanted to talk you about some random things, like for example these pictures of two of my sold paintings in their homes:

I love when my clients show me their places! It makes me very happy to think that my paintings are sharing the space with my clients and their family and friends.

Another thing I can tell you is that this year I’ve been working as a collaborator for the SOWA Artists Guild, I’ve been doing some graphic design work for the guild, I redesigned the logo and also I illustrated some ads that we’re publishing on the Art Scope Magazine, here you can see the ads:

It’s been very fun for me working on these ads, this is a team job, the artist Paul Pedulla works on the ideas and copy. It’s super cool to see the ads printed in the magazine.

And to finish this entry this is a list of things I’ve been enjoying lately:

  • Playing Xenoblades Chronicles on the Switch.

  • Watching the Mary Tyler Moore Show on Hulu.

  • Playing NES on an old CRT TV I found on the street!

  • Making homemade versions of the Sweetgreen salads.

  • Talking with my friend gR.- every Wednesday on our podcast Minimarket Bazar.

  • Enjoying my new Crocs.

And that’s it for this time. Please keep an eye on my social media accounts and on this website for future updates about my new collection of paintings.

Take care!

Wrapping Up 2021

Hi!

It’s been a while! I’ve been wanting to write a blog entry for months and I’ve been kinda busy so now that I have the time I’ll tell you about things that have happened to me this year that’s ending.

First of all the studio: now it’s been two years since I’ve been in SoWa and one since I got my own studio. This last year was great in the studio, I got way more visitors than 2020. This year I also started opening my studio for visits every Sunday morning and that has been very fun. I’m very happy that things are coming back to normal at the studios but we still have some work to do to bring more attention from potential clients, that’s why I decided to join the SoWa Artists Guild organization, now I’m part of the marketing team and I already started working on little projects, this for me is very exciting because I like working in a team.

This year was a successful year for my sales, I wanna thank all my clients, the new ones and the collectors that came back for more pieces, the ones that commissioned me paintings and illustrations and the ones that bought the ones I made alone. This year my pieces traveled a lot, one of my paintings went to Australia and another went to Hawaii!!!

Two commissioned paintings I made this year, to the left Chico’s T-Shirt that now lives very close, at Newbury Street, next is Symbols, that now lives in Australia! and finally High on Boba, the first painting I ever made, found its family this year, not it lives in Hawaii!

At the beginning of the year my studio was kinda empty because I didn’t have furniture but now I have drawers, cabinets, shelves and all! First it was impossible to find furniture because of the shortage of products in stores but around spring I was able to get all I needed. I also have plants and an amazing set of handmade lamps that my husband made for the studio. Thank you very much to all my clients, it was thanks to you I was able to get all I needed for my space.

A picture of my studio from September. The lamps can change color!

This year I also started selling new pins and stickers too! The first version of my first pin is now sold out (silver bear with color clouds), I have just a few pins left of the second version (golden bear with color clouds), and just a month ago I released the third and fourth versions (black and white bears) and I also have a totally new pin design too and stickers! Check out my store for pictures and more information.

Pins chronology. Each one is a limited edition of a hundred units.
First one is sold out and second one is almost gone!

And also I worked on digital drawings this year. I made digital NFT versions of some of my paintings that were sold on Async Art and I just made a new animated NFT that is now available at Foundation, pease check it out!. My experience with the NFT space this year was great, mainly because of the new friendships I’ve made, there’s a group of super cool Korean artists that have been so nice to me! now we have a little community of artists and we share feedback, experiences, tips, etc… it’s been a very uplifting and inspiring experience. I also made lots of digital illustrations to print as coloring pages for the kids visiting my studio!

And that’s it! Despite everything that’s going on I can say that I’ve had a good year, I’m healthy, I’m still working and I’m ready for 2022. Thank you so much for your support this year! I’ll work very hard to deliver new and better work for you.

Here I’m leaving you with a selection of nice pictures from this year.

Take care!

Spring update

Hello! It’s been a while since my last blog update so I’ll try to be brief. Here you have a selection of cool things I’ve done these last months:

New Works:

These months I’ve finished some new paintings and illustrations, please go to the WORKS section to see the new pieces.

Events:

During the month of May and June a selection of my works were displayed at The Upton Boston! They offered me one of their windows at Tremont Street to display my paintings. It was very cool to see my work been featured in a window! They also featured my studio in their blog!.

On Monday 28th of June kids from Minni Space came to visit me to my studio! It was so fun, they had lots of questions. I prepared a special surprise gift for them, a coloring pages pack, you can download the coloring pages for free here. Thank you so much for coming!

And that’s it for today. If everything goes well I’ll do a big store update very soon so please stay tuned!

Take care.

New Studio

Hi!

Since December 2020 I have a new bigger studio! I’m so excited! Now I have the space to work on bigger pieces and also now I have more wall space with better light to display my pieces better.

The studio is located in the same building as before, at the SoWa studios at 450 Harrison Ave. Boston, so the moving wasn’t really that hard.

I’ve already received some visitors in the new space! I still have to paint the walls and fix some holes but I was still very happy to receive people. I’m also very happy to have a space that’s more open and better ventilated so visitors can be properly socially distant while they are browsing.

If you would like to visit me in my new space I’m open every First Friday and Second Sunday of the month, you can also schedule a private visit by appointment, send me a message if you are interested. Here’s my contact information.

Take care.

New Painting: The Mask

Hi!

How are you? I’m doing well. I just wanted to show you my latest painting!

Mask_00.jpg

This piece is very important to me because of many reasons, for example this was the very first painting I started working on when I started working at my studio. At the time I was just starting learning how to use oil paints so for me was like an experimenting piece. It took me around 7 months to finish just because I was figuring things out all this time!

Also for me is very special because it represents a subject from my country Chile. This is a mask from the north of my country, you can find them there and also in Bolivia and Peru. This masks are used by dancers in religious carnivals. When I was a child I was very interested about this masks but I was also terrified by them! They are so joyful and colorful but also creepy at the same time. What was very interesting is that when I was in the process of painting this piece many people saw it when they came to my studio and almost everybody assumed that was an Asian mask so when I explained from where it really was people were very surprised.

I had this idea of painting a mask in my mind for years so when I decided I was gonna paint with oils I knew I wanted this one to be my first paint. The idea of having floating eyes came to me because of the riots in Chile in October 2019, police brutality against civilians was particularly wild during that time and many people lost their eyes by gunshots directed to their faces, it was a terrible time that I couldn’t and I will never take out of my mind.

One little detail: the mask’s eyes and the little yellow stars glow under UV light and they are particularly bright under normal light.

And that’s it for today! Take care!

New Painting: Family Portrait

Hi!

Today I wanted to show you my latest oil painting, it’s a commissioned piece for a client here in Boston, and it was a surprise birthday gift for my client’s husband!

This was so fun to paint and I was so happy working on this because with this terrible situation that were are all living the fact that I had someone interested in my work was a real blessing.

Every day right before leaving my studio after a day of work I took a picture of the painting and in the end I made a cool animated gif showing the whole painting process!

Take care!
